THE ENVIRONMENT

The special location of ICE in the Vicenza region compared to the traditional tanning disctrict has driven the company to focus its energies on protecting the environment, making significant investments in research and technology to mitigate the environmental impact of our activities as much as possible. To achieve this, the company has designed a waste water treatment plant for the waters and sludge produced during the leather processing stage, which is constantly monitored by qualified personnel to guarantee a high level of efficiency and respect for the environment.

SOLAR PANELS
To save energy and further our commitment to protecting the environment, in 2012, we installed a SCHUCO photovoltaic plant with 1328 panels that has a power rating of 318,72 kWp.

INTERNAL WATER TREATMENT
Our company uses an organic, chemical-physical water treatment system for the industrial waste waters created during the chemical processes. The plant is constantly and efficiently monitored and maintained in order to comply with the minimum requirements imposed by the Italian Autorizzazione Integrata Ambientale (AIA) regulations, which is issued to the same standards as the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) policy, required by the European Union.

HELTH & SAFETY
We fully comply with Italian Legislative Decree 81/08 on Health & Safety in the Workplace and Legislative Decree 152/06 on environmental regulations. This system is constantly monitored both internally and by external bodies (ARPAV, ULSS, etc.).

SOLVENT REDUCTION
For every finishing process that requires solvents, we use a solvent scrubber with a water-air separation system and emissions are collected in a high-efficiency, gas afterburner chamber, which is constantly monitored and maintained.
